2025 has been another busy year for our sporting students.
As term 4 winds to an end, there is still plenty going on; water polo, cricket, touch, volleyball, tennis, Legends of the Peak forest run, orienteering, golf and athletics.....this term is still all go!
Our school athletics day will be held on Friday 14th November at the Westbrook athletics field. This is a day not just for the competitive athletes but making sure our non competitive tauira are engaged throughout the day too. The main focus is around participation, having events to suit all skill levels and scoring points for your whanau.
Our top competitive athletes will go on to represent our school at the Super 11 and CBOP athletics events.
Old School vs New School
Our kaiako vs tauira challenge is heating up in term 4. After the teachers won dodgeball, the students then won netball to even up the score 1 - 1. Our next challenge was volleyball.
After a lot of friendly banter, some dodgy line calls and super rallies, the kaiako were victorious to take the old/new school challenge lead 2 -1. A big thanks to Matua Preston for being the lead behind this initiative, a fun regular challenge between our staff and students.
Legends of the Peak
On Friday 7th November, 150 students from Pukaki, Te Roro o Te Rangi, Te Rangiiwaho and Tunohopu whānau took part in the Legend of the Peaks Kids Forest Run.
The event took place down at Waipa and served as the precursor to the main event the following day. Students ran 3km through the forest, and all participants were presented with a medal at the finish line.
Rotorua Intermediate students had a great time and demonstrated our school values, representing our kura extremely well — so much so that four of our students were acknowledged by the event team for showing manaakitanga towards others and the environment. Well done to Perata, Marily, Jakoh and Colin!

New Zealand Traveller Declaration
Are you going overseas for the school holidays?
When you return, you can now complete a digital New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) before you fly back into New Zealand – replacing the need to fill out a paper declaration card on the plane.
Everyone coming into New Zealand needs to complete an NZTD. You’ll answer questions about your trip and what’s in your bags. You can complete it at a time that suits you, on the NZTD website or by downloading the NZTD app, and submit it 24 hours before your trip back to New Zealand.
